PUMPKIN BREAD

2½ cups sugar
¾ cup oil
¾ cup brown sugar
3 eggs
¾ cups pumpkin puree
¾ cups chopped pecans or walnuts
3¼ cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1½ tsp. baking powder
1½ tsp. salt
1½ tsp. nutmeg
1½ tsp. allspice
¾ tsp. ground cloves
1½ tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350º. Combine the first six ingredients and set aside. Sift together the remaining dry ingredients and add to the pumpkin mixture, mixing until smooth.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pans. Bake for one hour or until the top springs back when pressed down.
